A new government is being formed in the Netherlands. Since the last elections on January 22nd they have been working on forming a coalition between the two largest parties CDA (Christian Democrats, middle-right) and PvdA (Socialist, middle-left) but it clashed about 2 weeks ago. So now, new coalitions are being investigated, amongst others one between CDA, VVD (Liberals) and the confessional Christian parties ChristenUnie and SGP. In general, these parties consist of confessing, born-again Christians. My dad called it a 'blink of the eye' of God, because there has been a lot of prayer since last year for a true christian voice in politics, but it seemed without result: ChristenUnie and SGP lost votes and seats in parliament. Participation in government would be very unexpected, but that seems to be the way God works most of the times, isn't it?
I truly believe this coalition could be to the country's benefit. Next Monday a decision is expected, so we still have a couple of days left to pray!
